(Monday Opinion) Post-COP29: A Time for Innovation, Challenges, and Sustainable Choices in South Korea

At the recent COP29 conference, the South Korean government expressed clear commitment to expanding renewable energy, deploying Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and strengthening the power grid. This aligns with the ‘triple renewable energy’ promise made at COP28 and is considered an essential choice in the global energy transition movement.
However, successful implementation requires not only renewable energy and ESS but also clear plans and execution for securing flexibility resources, including Demand Response (DR).
